Key points for installation of slurry pump motor


The installation quality of the motor of the slurry pump, as the power core, directly affects the stability and service life of the equipment operation. Incorrect installation may lead to serious malfunctions such as bearing burnout, mechanical seal damage, and impeller detachment. Therefore, during the installation process, special attention should be paid to the direction, connection method, lubrication and cooling system configuration, and other aspects.

Classification Explanation of Installation Points

1. Motor direction and rotation direction

The pump casing is usually marked with arrows indicating the normal operating direction, and it is necessary to ensure that the motor direction is consistent with this.

Reverse rotation can cause the impeller connected by one-way threads to loosen, resulting in damage to the overcurrent components and even overall machine failure.

During the trial run, the motor should be completely disconnected from the pump and the motor should be tested separately to ensure correct rotation.

2. Transmission mode and alignment requirements

Different transmission modes correspond to different installation specifications:

Direct drive (DC): efficient, compact structure, must be aligned through coupling, coaxiality error ≤ 0.15mm; elastic washer intact and replaced in a timely manner

Belt drive (CR/CL/ZV/CV): adjustable speed, adaptable to large center distance, ensuring that the motor is parallel to the pump shaft, and using a ruler or cable method to calibrate the pulley; ZV/CV type can prevent motor from entering water

3. Lubrication and cooling system configuration

Thin oil lubrication: Before driving, add oil to the designated level according to the oil gauge. It is strictly prohibited to operate without oil, otherwise the bearings will burn out due to dry friction.

Oil lubrication: Regularly add oil through the oil cup, usually without the need for additional cooling water.

Mechanical seal cooling: It is necessary to supply shaft seal water to prevent high-pressure water and impurities from entering the motor cavity; Models with cooling covers also need to ensure smooth circulation of cooling water.

4. Electrical and sealing safety

Measure the cold insulation resistance of the motor, which should not be less than 50M Ω to avoid the risk of leakage.

The submersible slurry pump adopts an integral sealing structure, and the cable lead out is sealed with epoxy resin and "O" ring multi-stage sealing to prevent moisture from entering the motor.

The wiring must meet the voltage and frequency requirements (commonly 380V/50Hz), and the protection facilities must be checked for completeness.

5. Basic and fixed requirements

It is recommended to install the horizontal pump using the secondary grouting method to ensure that the centerline of the unit is consistent with the foundation, and the horizontal tolerance does not exceed 0.1/1000.

The pump body cannot withstand pipeline pressure, and the inlet and outlet pipelines should be independently supported to avoid deformation or leakage caused by stress transmission.

The anchor bolts must be tightened and regularly inspected to prevent loosening and vibration.

Before installation, check the packing list and instructions to confirm that the model parameters and components are complete.

It is recommended to test the new pump with clean water for the first operation and confirm that there are no abnormalities before transporting the slurry medium.

Develop a regular maintenance plan, including turning (1/4 turn per week), replacing vulnerable parts, checking sealing status, etc.
