The selection of slurry pumps requires comprehensive consideration of medium characteristics, performance parameters, pump type and material matching, installation and maintenance, and other factors. Efficient selection can be achieved through the steps of clarifying operating conditions, matching parameters, selecting types and materials, and optimizing operation.
Core influencing factors
The key to selecting slurry pumps is to match the actual working conditions, which mainly involves four dimensions:
Medium characteristics: particle size (such as coarse particles requiring high wear resistance material), concentration (L-type pump for low concentration, AH type for high concentration), corrosiveness (synthetic rubber or titanium alloy for strong acid).
Performance parameters: flow rate (high concentration slurry takes 40% -80% flow rate from the high-efficiency zone), head (with a 10% margin to deal with wear), speed (high abrasive slurry selects 3/4 of the rated speed).
Structure and Material: Material of overcurrent components (metal wear-resistant material such as hard nickel 4, rubber suitable for fine particles), shaft seal type (secondary impeller seal does not require shaft seal water, mechanical seal has no leakage).
Installation and operation: Installation location (near the source of the slurry to reduce energy consumption), transmission method (V-belt transmission with low cost, variable frequency drive with adjustable speed).
Selection method steps
1. Analysis of operating conditions: Determine the particle size, concentration, and corrosiveness of the medium, calculate the flow head, and select the AH type pump for high concentration strong abrasive slurry (concentration>30%)
2. Matching parameters: The flow rate is set at 40% -80% (high abrasion) or 40% -100% (low abrasion) in the high-efficiency zone, with a 10% margin added to the head. The highest efficiency flow rate is 100m ³/h, and 40-80m ³/h is selected for high abrasion conditions
3. Choose pump type: Select according to concentration and abrasiveness: L-type for low abrasion, HH type for high head and low abrasion, SP type for underwater working conditions, with large liquid level fluctuations and immersion in the liquid → SP (SPR) type pump
4. Determine the material: metal material (hard nickel 1 economic wear-resistant, chromium 27 cast iron resistant to moderate abrasion); Rubber material (natural rubber is suitable for weak acidity and alkalinity, fine particles<3mm)
5. Optimized configuration: Choose the secondary impeller seal for the shaft seal (backflow pressure ≤ 15% outlet pressure), and use V-belt or variable frequency drive for transmission without shaft seal water scenario → Secondary impeller seal
Key precautions
Avoid parameter overload: Excessive head will increase energy consumption, and flow exceeding the high-efficiency zone can lead to accelerated wear and tear.
Regular maintenance priority: Vulnerable parts (impeller, guard plate) need to be inspected and replaced regularly, and the inlet and outlet pipelines should be ensured to be unobstructed during installation.
Special scenario adaptation: AHP type multi-stage series is used for long-distance transportation, SP type is selected for diving conditions, and the diving depth is controlled to be ≤ 60 meters.
