The bending of the slurry pump shaft can be repaired by straightening (such as twisting the straight shaft method) or replacing with a new shaft. Minor bending should be repaired on site first, while severe bending or material defects need to be replaced.

Key repair steps (taking the twisting straight axis method as an example)

Surface treatment: Place the concave surface of the shaft facing upwards and support it with copper or hardwood to avoid damaging the shaft surface.

Step by step tapping: Use a twisting rod to start from the point of maximum bending, tapping along the 1/3 area of the circumference, tapping more in the center and less on both sides, and measuring the straightness while tapping.

Accuracy check: Use a dial gauge to detect curvature, ensuring an error of ≤ 0.05mm/m, and avoiding excessive straightening.

Precautions

Pre treatment: Before repair, check the shaft material (such as carbon steel, alloy) to avoid breakage during straightening.

Prevent recurrence: After repair, adjust the concentricity of the bearings to avoid bending again due to vibration.

Safe operation: When heating and straightening, the temperature should be controlled (≤ 600 ℃) to prevent the shaft from annealing.

Verify after repair

Monitor vibration values (≤ 4.5mm/s) and bearing temperature (≤ 70 ℃) during trial operation.

If there is still abnormal noise or leakage after repair, it is necessary to check the balance of the impeller and the wear of the shaft sleeve.
