Cleaning and drying treatment for slurry pumps after long-term disuse
Before a long period of disuse for the slurry pump, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the interior of the pump body and the residual medium in the pipeline to prevent corrosion or blockage. After cleaning, the water should be completely wiped dry, especially for key components such as impellers and bearings, to prevent rust or scale buildup. If the pump body has come into contact with corrosive mediums, it is also necessary to rinse repeatedly with clean water and ensure complete drying.
Storage Environment and Protection Measures
The cleaned and dried slurry pump should be hoisted or placed in a ventilated and dry environment to avoid dampness and high temperatures. If stored in water, it is necessary to run for at least 30 minutes every 15 days (dry grinding is prohibited) to maintain the mobility of mechanical components. At the same time, attention should be paid to frost prevention to avoid the pump body cracking due to low temperature.
Maintenance and Care of Key Components
During the shutdown period, it is necessary to apply grease to bearings, seals, and other rotating parts to prevent oxidation or jamming. Rotate the pump shaft manually by 90 degrees every week to ensure even bearing load and avoid deformation. Inspect and replace aging seals and lubricating oil, and it is recommended to completely change the lubricating oil once before shutdown to improve reliability for the next startup.
Preparation before use
When restarting, flush the residual material in the pump with backflow water, check the insulation of the cable and the condition of the fasteners. If oil emulsification or mechanical seal abnormality is found, replace the parts in time and contact professional maintenance. Before starting, also verify that the pressure and flow of the shaft seal water and cooling water are normal.
