Cleaning and drying
Ensure that the pump body is clean and dry, avoiding oil stains and leaks. This helps prevent corrosion of the pump body and damage to internal components.
Inspection and maintenance
Regularly inspect all components of the pump, including bearings, oil level, shaft seal water, and cooling water system, to ensure that they are in good condition. For example, the bearing temperature should not exceed 75 ℃, and the lubricating oil needs to be replaced regularly.
Prevent impurities from entering
During the shutdown period, ensure that there are no metal objects, large solid or flexible substances (such as rubber, cotton, plastic cloth) entering the pump, which may damage the flow components and block the impeller flow channel.
Bearing protection
The backup pump should rotate 1/4 turn per week to evenly distribute static loads and external vibrations on the shaft, which can prevent bearing damage due to long-term static conditions.
Washing and anti-corrosion
If the shutdown time is long, backwash water should be used to flush the sediment inside the pump before restarting to prevent the medium from settling and solidifying, blocking the flow channel. In addition, measures should be taken to prevent corrosion of the pump body, such as applying rust proof oil.
Inspection and lubrication
For slurry pumps that use lubricating grease to lubricate the dynamic and static rings, it is necessary to regularly check and add oil every day to ensure that the packing and dynamic rings are in good lubrication condition.
Through the above maintenance measures, the slurry pump can be effectively protected from damage during shutdown and prepared for the next start-up.
