1. Regular inspection and maintenance
The slurry pump has been injected with an appropriate amount of oil before leaving the factory to lubricate the mechanical seal, and this oil should be checked once a year. If water is found in the engine oil, it should be drained, the engine oil should be replaced, the sealing gasket should be replaced, and the screw plug should be tightened. After three weeks, it is necessary to recheck. If the engine oil becomes an emulsion again, the mechanical seal should be inspected.
2. Prevent impurities from entering
Before starting the slurry pump, it is necessary to check the attached device of the mechanical seal and whether the cooling and lubrication system is complete and unobstructed. Before starting, the material pipeline should be cleaned to prevent rust impurities from entering the sealing chamber.
3. Preparation for online maintenance
In order to perform online maintenance, there needs to be sufficient space between the machine seal shaft sleeve and the bearing bracket. If the damaged part of the seal is the compression spring or O-ring, it needs to be replaced. In addition, it is necessary to carry out appropriate technical modifications to the space between the slurry pump bearing bracket and the pump body, in order to have sufficient maintenance space for online maintenance of the machine seal.
4. Avoid running on empty time
It is strictly prohibited to operate the pump in an evacuated state, as this will not only cause severe vibration, but also affect the service life of the pump.
5. Avoid metal objects and large solid blocks from entering
It is strictly prohibited to enter metal objects and large solid objects that exceed the pump's allowed passage inside the pump, and it is also strictly prohibited to enter flexible materials such as rubber, cotton, plastic cloth, etc., in order to avoid damaging the flow components and blocking the impeller flow channel, which will prevent the pump from working properly.
6. Regularly check the leakage of shaft seal water
Regularly check the water leakage of the shaft seal. When the leakage increases, adjust the bolts of the packing gland. If it is necessary to replace the packing, it should be done in a timely manner.
7. Check the bearing temperature
Regularly monitor the bearing temperature, with a maximum temperature not exceeding 75 ℃. For SKF bearings, the maximum temperature should not exceed 120 ℃.
