1. Check the status of the impeller
Impeller detachment: First, check if the impeller has detached. The connection between the impeller of the slurry pump and the pump shaft is a one-way threaded connection, and reversing it may cause the impeller to fall off, requiring re inspection, installation, and testing.
Impeller damage: Check for obvious damage to the impeller, such as blade breakage or deformation. Reversing may cause collision between the impeller and the sheath or protective plate, resulting in damage.
2. Check the overcurrent components
Damaged overcurrent components: Check whether the overcurrent components (such as protective sheaths and plates) are damaged. When reversed, the impeller may collide with these components, causing damage to the protective plate or cracks in the protective sheath.
3. Check the mechanical seal
Mechanical seal damage: Check if the mechanical seal is damaged. The material of mechanical seals is usually 2cr13 or 316L, and the reverse reaction force may cause collision between the stationary and moving rings, resulting in damage.
4. Check the pump shaft
Bending of pump shaft: Check if the pump shaft is bent. When reversing, the reaction force of the impeller may push against the pump shaft. If the rigidity of the pump shaft is insufficient, it may cause the pump shaft to bend.
5. Check the noise level
Operating noise: Pay attention to whether there is any abnormal noise during the operation of the slurry pump. Reversing may cause an increase in the clearance of the transmission part, and if not carefully adjusted, it may produce significant noise during operation.
6. Check the installation and fastening situation
Bolt tightening: Check if all fixing bolts are tightened to ensure they are not loose. This includes bolts 4 for the pump body, bearing components, and other connecting parts.
7. Check the direction of rotation
Confirm rotation direction: Confirm again whether the rotation direction of the pump is correct. Before starting, rotate the pump shaft in the correct direction of rotation and check for friction when the impeller rotates.
8. Check the shaft seal
Shaft seal inspection: Conduct corresponding inspections on the shaft seal of the slurry pump to ensure that it is intact and can effectively prevent leakage.
Through the above inspection, possible problems that may occur after the impeller of the slurry pump reverses can be detected and dealt with in a timely manner, ensuring the normal operation of the pump and extending its service life.
