Maintenance of slurry pump body
1. Daily inspection
Users need to regularly check whether the oil level in the bearing box of the slurry pump meets the requirements, and the correct oil level should usually be near the middle scale line of the oil dipstick.
2. Operation monitoring
During the operation of the slurry pump, it is necessary to regularly check for any abnormal sounds, vibrations, or leaks. Once a problem is discovered, it should be dealt with promptly.
3. Avoid dry operation
It is strictly prohibited to continue working the slurry pump in an evacuated state, as this can cause severe vibration and affect the service life of the pump.
4. Prevent foreign objects from entering
Metal objects and large solid particles exceeding the maximum diameter allowed by the pump, as well as flexible materials such as rubber, cotton, plastic cloth, etc., should not enter the pump to avoid damaging the flow components and blocking the impeller flow channel.
5. Shaft seal water inspection
Regularly check whether the pressure and flow rate of the shaft seal water meet the requirements, which can be done by checking the degree of opening of the shaft seal water pipe valve or detecting the temperature of the packing box.
6. Lubricating oil replacement
If the working pressure of the slurry pump is above 0.5 MPa, PTFE or carbon fiber soaked PTFE packing should be used. After the packing is filled and compressed, a water test operation should be carried out, and the cover bolts should be adjusted to achieve the optimal state of penetration into droplets but not into lines. In addition, after continuous operation for 600 to 800 hours, the slurry pump needs to completely replace the lubricating oil to ensure the lubrication of the pump.
7. Maintenance of standby pump
The spare slurry pump should rotate 1/4 turn per week to evenly distribute static loads and external vibrations on the shaft. If the shutdown time is long, backwash water should be used to flush the sediment inside the pump before restarting to prevent the medium from settling and solidifying, blocking the flow channel, and affecting the start and operation of the pump.
Corrosion prevention of slurry pump body
1. Choose the appropriate material
Choose the appropriate pump body material according to different usage conditions. For example, cast iron material is suitable for media with pH values ranging from 5 to 9, while 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel material can be used for various corrosive media.
2. Coating protection
Coating the pump body can effectively prevent corrosion. For example, lining the pump body with wear-resistant and anti-corrosion materials can improve its wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
3. Regular inspection and maintenance
Regularly inspect the pump body to promptly identify and address corrosion issues. For the parts that have already corroded, repair welding, polishing, and other methods can be used for repair, and re coating treatment can be carried out.
4. Correct operation and use
The correct operation and usage method can reduce the wear and corrosion of the pump body. For example, avoid running the pump in an evacuated state, regularly check and adjust the clearance between the impeller and the front guard plate, and regularly replace the lubricating oil.
Through the above maintenance and anti-corrosion measures, the service life of the slurry pump body can be effectively extended, ensuring its stable operation in harsh working environments.
