Channel dredging project
When carrying out dredging projects in the waterway system, a large slurry pump called a suction pump is used, which is characterized by high flow rate and low head, and the flow rate can reach tens of thousands of cubic meters per hour. Taking a coastal waterway dredging project as an example, due to the long-term impact of sediment accumulation on the waterway, its navigation capacity has decreased. The construction party uses a large slurry pump for dredging operations, extracting sediment from the bottom of the waterway by suction and transporting it to the designated dumping area. These slurry pumps, with their high flow rate characteristics, quickly remove a large amount of sediment from the waterway, greatly improving dredging efficiency, shortening the engineering cycle, and enabling the waterway to restore normal navigation capacity as soon as possible. At the same time, the wear-resistant characteristics of the slurry pump during operation ensure that the equipment can operate stably for a long time, reducing engineering delays caused by equipment failures.
Earthwork engineering for water conservancy and hydropower construction
In water conservancy and hydropower construction, large slurry pumps are used to complete a large number of earthwork projects, such as soil excavation, hydraulic transportation, and filling projects. For example, in a large-scale reservoir construction project, a large amount of soil needs to be transported from the borrow area to the filling area during the dam filling process. The construction unit uses a large slurry pump to mix soil with water to form a slurry, which is then transported through pipelines to designated locations for flushing and filling. This method not only improves the efficiency of earthwork transportation, but also reduces the problems of dust and traffic congestion caused by traditional transportation methods. During this process, the slurry pump can adapt to different working conditions and requirements. Even if the conveying distance is far, the stable transportation of slurry can be ensured through the combination of multi-stage pumps or the use of high lift pumps.
Underwater mining of mineral deposits
When using hydraulic methods to excavate underwater mineral deposits, submersible slurry pumps are the main mining machinery in the entire hydraulic and hydroelectric mechanization facility. Taking a certain underwater metal mining project as an example, the submersible slurry pump is placed below the water surface, utilizing its characteristic of generating return water at the pump inlet to increase the pump's suction capacity. It is not only used for hydraulic transportation, but also for hydraulic destruction of rocks while forming high concentration solid-liquid mixtures. The slurry formed by mixing the mined ore with water is transported to the surface treatment facility through a submersible slurry pump. This application method greatly increases the concentration of the transported solid-liquid mixture and increases the excavation depth, thereby improving the mining efficiency of underwater mineral deposits. Meanwhile, the submersible slurry pump ensures the normal operation of the equipment in harsh underwater environments due to its excellent sealing and wear resistance.
