1. Cleaning and Inspection
The slurry pump needs to be kept clean, dry, free of oil stains, and leak free at all times. Users need to regularly check whether the oil level in the bearing box of the slurry pump meets the requirements. Generally speaking, the correct oil level is near the middle scale line of the oil dipstick. In addition, it is necessary to regularly inspect the slurry pump for any abnormal sounds, vibrations, or leaks during operation. If any problems are found, they should be dealt with promptly.
2. Prevent foreign objects from entering
Metal objects and large solid particles exceeding the maximum allowable diameter of the pump should be avoided from entering the slurry pump. At the same time, flexible substances such as rubber, cotton, and plastic cloth should be prevented from entering to avoid damaging the flow components and blocking the impeller flow channel.
3. Inspection of shaft seal water
Users need to regularly check whether the pressure and flow rate of the shaft seal water meet the requirements. This can be done by checking the degree of opening of the shaft seal water pipe valve or by detecting the temperature of the packing box. If the temperature is too high, it indicates that the water supply is insufficient and water needs to be added. For slurry pumps that use lubricating grease to lubricate the dynamic and static rings, it is necessary to regularly check and add oil every day to ensure that the packing and dynamic rings are in good lubrication condition.
4. Adjustment of work pressure
If the working pressure of the slurry pump is above 0.5 MPa, PTFE or carbon fiber soaked PTFE packing should be used. After the packing is filled and compressed, the user should conduct a water test operation and adjust the gland bolts in detail to achieve the optimal state of penetration into droplets but not into lines.
5. Adjustment of clearance between impeller and volute shell
In order to ensure the efficient operation of the slurry pump, users must regularly adjust the gap between the impeller and the front wall of the vortex shell to maintain it between 0.75-1.50mm.
6. Replacement of lubricating oil
After 600 to 800 hours of continuous operation, the lubricating oil of the slurry pump needs to be completely replaced to ensure the lubrication of the pump.
7. Maintenance of standby pump
The spare slurry pump should rotate 1/4 turn per week to ensure that the bearings are evenly subjected to static loads and external vibrations.
8. Long term unused processing
If the slurry pump has not been used for a long time, the sediment inside the pump should be washed clean before starting.
9. Professional training and learning
For special fault situations, professional personnel should be contacted in a timely manner to avoid taking incorrect maintenance measures that may cause more serious damage. Regular professional training and learning are also essential for operators to master more maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
Through the above maintenance and upkeep measures, the working efficiency and service life of the slurry pump can be effectively improved, especially in the case of conveying high viscosity media, and these measures are particularly important.
