Regular maintenance of slurry pumps is of great importance for ensuring their efficient and stable operation, prolonging their service life, and preventing failures. Here are some reasons why regular maintenance is important and the recommended maintenance frequency.
Importance
1.Ensure efficient and stable operation
Regular maintenance can promptly identify and resolve potential issues such as wear, corrosion, insufficient lubrication, etc., ensuring that slurry pumps can operate continuously, efficiently, and stably.
2.Extend Lifespan
By conducting regular inspections and maintenance, it is possible to replace worn-out components in a timely manner, preventing large-scale failures caused by minor issues and thereby extending the overall service life of slurry pumps.
3.Preventing Failures from Occurring
Regular maintenance helps prevent failures, reduces unplanned downtime, and ensures the continuity and stability of production.
4.Reduce Operating Costs
While regular maintenance requires an investment of manpower and resources, it can significantly reduce overall operating costs compared to emergency repairs and production downtime following sudden failures.
Maintenance Frequency
1.Routine Inspection
Check the oil level, lubrication system, vibration, noise, etc. in the rack daily to ensure the normal operation of the pump.
Check the pressure, flow rate, and current of the pump for normalcy, inspect the horizontal and vertical alignment of the slurry pump, and check for any cracks or deformation in the frame.
2.Weekly Maintenance
For standby pumps or pumps that are not in operation, manually rotate them by 90 degrees each week to ensure even load distribution on the shaft.
3.Monthly Maintenance
Check the bearing temperature, which should not exceed 75°C for rolling bearings and 65°C for sliding bearings.
4.Quarterly Maintenance
Regularly replace the mechanical seal.
5.Annual Maintenance
It is recommended to completely change the lubricating oil once after the pump has been running for 800 hours.
6.Regular Maintenance
Inspect the wear condition of the slurry pump's overcurrent components to determine if replacement is necessary; check the wear, cavitation, and corrosion of all parts, and repair or replace as needed; inspect bearings and replace if necessary; check the degree of bending of the shaft, measure, and adjust the axial movement of the rotor.
By taking the above maintenance measures, it is possible to effectively ensure the long-term stable operation of slurry pumps, improve production efficiency, and reduce operating costs.
