(1) Frequent replacement of components
The wear of the overcurrent component requires replacement: The overcurrent component of the slurry pump cannot function properly after wear and needs to be replaced. When the overcurrent components such as impellers and protective plates are worn to a certain extent, it will affect the performance of the slurry pump. According to the impellers and protective plates made of different materials, when the weight loss of the impellers is reduced by 50% (such as N1 material), 30% (such as Ni4 material), 10% (such as C27 material), 50% (such as Crl5Mo3 material), etc., the protective plates need to be replaced when the weight loss is reduced by 30% (such as N1 material), 20% (such as Ni4 material), 10% (such as C27 material), 35% (such as Crl5Mo3 material), etc.
Replacement brings cost increase: Replacing overcurrent components requires purchasing new parts, which directly increases procurement costs. Moreover, during the replacement process, it may also involve manual installation costs, which increases the maintenance cost of the slurry pump.
(2) Reduce production efficiency
Performance degradation affects the production process: After the wear of the overcurrent components, the performance of the slurry pump will decrease, such as a decrease in head and unstable flow rate. When 30% of the length of the impeller blades is worn off, the weight loss of the impeller decreases by 50% of its original weight, and the head may decrease to 30%. This will reduce the efficiency of the entire production process, and in industrial production, it may lead to the inability to complete production tasks on time, indirectly increasing production costs.
Efficiency reduction increases energy consumption: After wear and tear, the operating efficiency of the slurry pump decreases, and in order to achieve the same working effect, more energy needs to be consumed. For example, when transporting the same slurry, the worn slurry pump may require greater power to maintain operation, thereby increasing energy costs such as electricity.
(3) Shorten the service life of equipment
The overall service life of the equipment is affected: the wear of the overcurrent components will have an impact on the overall service life of the slurry pump. Due to the fact that the overcurrent components are a critical part of the slurry pump, their wear will accelerate the damage of other parts, resulting in a shortened service life of the entire slurry pump. For example, the unbalanced force generated by the wear of overcurrent components may cause additional wear and fatigue damage to components such as pump shafts.
Early scrapping increases equipment renewal costs: If the slurry pump is scrapped early due to wear and tear of the overcurrent components, it is necessary to purchase new slurry pump equipment in advance, which undoubtedly greatly increases the equipment renewal costs.
