Performance optimization and energy-saving effect of slurry pump


(1) Structural parameter optimization

Impeller structure

Researchers such as Alawadhi et al. (2021) applied response surface methodology to optimize the blade and impeller geometry parameters of slurry pumps, which can help improve the performance of slurry pumps. By optimizing the impeller structure, the flow state of slurry in the pump can be improved, energy loss can be reduced, and the efficiency of the pump can be increased.

Spiral shell structure

In the numerical study of the internal flow field of solid-liquid slurry pumps, Shi et al. analyzed the wear mechanism of the slurry pump volute wall and proposed an effective wear equation to estimate the wear strength and wear area of the slurry pump volute. Understanding the wear of the snail shell can help optimize the structure of the snail shell in a targeted manner, thereby improving the overall performance and service life of the slurry pump.

(2) Flow control optimization

Flow control in fixed speed mode

In the wet flue gas desulfurization system, an optimized control strategy for slurry pump under fixed speed mode is proposed. A model was established to determine the optimal slurry flow rate with changes in flue gas and slurry parameters, and a control strategy for regulating the variable frequency slurry pump was proposed. This flow control optimization strategy helps to maintain good performance of the slurry pump under different operating conditions and reduce unnecessary energy consumption.

Research on the Influence of Particle Characteristics on Performance

Research has found that it is crucial to investigate the impact of solid particles on the performance of centrifugal slurry pumps when designing efficient slurry conveying systems. However, there is currently limited attention paid to how the particle characteristics in water flow affect pump performance. In depth research on the impact of solid particles can help to take corresponding measures in the design and operation process to optimize the performance of slurry pumps, such as adjusting the pump structure or operating parameters based on particle characteristics.
